Hey man, you seem to be a good dude and I very much think you should be congratulated on that. Well done, bc things could have gone another way.

No rational jury would have convicted you
My father has always been the “but mine is better” kind of guy. I had recently gotten a new (to me) 2010 Forester XT and he had gotten some newer (2015, I think) Equinox that he had blacked out.
When I first rolled up to his house, he saw my car (he didn’t know I sold my 98 forester and gotten the 2010XT) and started…
This is wonderful to hear now, but if I had known this when I was 12, it would’ve been the greatest thing to have ever happened to me and would’ve been the most significant milestone in my life for years to come.
“Nice 993" I said to the gentleman in the mid-90's 911 Carrera, festooned with Porsche Club of America (PCA) paraphernalia and a Nurburgring sticker, making sure to spell out Porsche’s internal designation for his generation of car as “nine-nine-three” as they do in enthusiast circles.
“Being a mechanic and thinking that Chevy’s use Ford engines? This guy needs to find another profession.”
Michael Bay couldn’t have done better.
As opposed to a massive 7 passenger ICE that gets crappy gas mileage? So what you are really upset about is the idea that people have families and want to drive them places right?
Huge EV with massive battery (because they will be massive) drive me crazy. Yeah save the planet.
I don’t quite understand your long comment as you state you don’t want to have multiple cars yet you still have multiple cars.
Seems to me like Amazon is playing a long game for acquiring Rivian at deflated market values.
This. I actually DO believe in mostly single-purpose cars, but the only use case I have for an EV is around town and commuting. But I have no commute, and I don’t drive around town enough to justify the costs of an EV. If I did have a daily commute, I probably would have something DIRT cheap, like an eSmart. But $60K+…
Those Rivian vans are all over the place here. They look like a big cartoon character. I think they look pretty cool.
Living pretty close to an amazon warehouse, I see them quite often and those goofy vans always put a smile on my face. Hope they can get more buyers for them.
I wouldn’t have range anxiety either, but I live in SF bay area with EV fast chargers everywhere, and I have 240V charging at home. Also with a Tesla, I have *reliable* DC fast charging on the road, if I were to take a road trip. But the range issue is exactly why some people drive a huge truck as their daily. They…
These are the same people who must own an f350 for that one possible time they need to tow a huge trailer that they don't own yet but could
A lot of work went into this piece, and a lot of passion. I applaud both the effort and the goal. I will also concede that there is a lot of great points in there.
Pick a lane guys.
My lawyer advises me not to answer any further question.
