They’re not just going to try... they will.

I suspect loaded ones will top $50k. I suspect even lightly optioned examples will be $45k.

Realistically, the Z is bare bones at $40k. Half decently packaged and with an LSD and big brakes it’s a $50k coupe easily, without any markup. The 6 speed is the gold star, but looks wise I much prefer the Supra, and I’m a Nissan fanboy.

These comments always make me laugh. Every time I get the itch for a new car I drive just about anything that looks interesting. Price point only applies to those I can’t afford. Twice in the past I’ve replaced an existing car with one that cost significantly less because I just liked it more. If you’re shopping for a

Hopefully this will get Toyota to put a manual in the Supra to compete.

Gonna have to disagree with you here because the CT200h is literally a dressed up Prius. It’s exactly what it’s suppose to be.

I didn’t totally grasp how the economy worked in terms of dealers and used cars”

This is also true. While the pandemic has been very hard on some people, a lot of households are in great shape, and while they weren’t driving last year, they put off their new car purchase and now that they’re venturing out, returning to work, etc, they’re ready to buy.

That and most of the people who do buy news cars didn’t lose their jobs and suddenly had extra cash from not taking vacations or going out to eat.

I wouldn’t just chalk it up to greed. A dealer has fixed costs—utilities, insurance, payroll, loans on property and inventory, etc. If you sell five cars this week versus ten last week those costs will remain the same. Likewise commissioned sales people. They still have rent or mortgage payments to make, mouths to

Or, you know...basic economics.

So you support unions unless you are the employer?  Doesn’t sound like most businesses at all...
