I did that with W7 just so I can back up/restore the system easily.

Kk I just got the SSD. Will try it when I get home! Do we need to make several partitions on the SSD just like what we usually do on HDD? Like 30GB system partition and the rest for software and stuff.

2.40 gigahertz Intel Core i7-3630QM
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary memory cache
6144 kilobyte tertiary memory cache

Gotcha.

I see. Thanks! I'll try clean install first. If that doesn't work I'll clone the drive. Should I clone my "software" partition with "system" partition or just the system partition and re-install everything?

Does this work for windows 8? Say I have 3 partitions on my original hdd: windows, lenovo(pre-installed by lenovo), and software, do I choose clone partition for each of them? Why can't we clone disk in this case? And also, do I need to delete all other partitions or just delete the files and leave them there?
