Exactly what I was going to say. The overall arc and "big bad" is a bit of a letdown, but there are some amazing episodes. I think season 4, like season 6, suffers a bit because the theme of the season (defining/finding yourself after high school) is more subtle than anything the show ever did.

why controversial? Season 3 had a lot of bang for its buck, and I remember getting the most invested in the scale of the danger, being the most excited and genuinely curious how they were going to stop the mayor.

I agree with Narodnya… it's another possible layer of fiction. I always thought that was a neat episode. There are FAR worse….

The fact that Mae Whitman was the voice of Katara in "Avatar: The Last Airbender" makes me giggle from time to time, but I have a feeling there are very few people who are fans of both shows :P

Okay, I was pretty sure that if someone died, it would be Zeek or Camille, but now I'm pretty much convinced that Ryan is going to die (whether due to a drunken/drug accident, or direct suicide). Amber's been too well-adjusted for too long, the show has to f** that up for her. I loved her making the connection to her…
