I assume you're referring to Ned by "dumpy comic relief sidekick"? IDK, tbh, I think it's nice to see a "dumpy" (i.e., normal-looking) teenager in a school on TV for a change, but maybe that's just me. Also, nice to see Peter hanging out with a friend, like normal teenagers do.

This was bothering me, as well. It might've worked if he'd just had an encounter with Belle where she was especially scathing, or something, but they couldn't even get the timing right on that one :/
