I definitely prefer the Doctor as a fallible weirdo rather than the quasi-Jesus version we’ve been getting. Some of my favourite episodes from New Who are ones where he is vulnerable for a change (Blink, Midnight, Waters of Mars, Heaven Sent) etc.

“On the other hand, that is basically impossible, Every critical article has to be from a point of view or it is impossible to discuss something subjective like art.”
The Bugle is still the best by the way. Loved that recent episode with Alice and Nish. Alice, Nish and Andy make a good team. Like the comedy equivalent of a perfectly balanced meal.......
I prefer her with 12 than 11 because it’s a bit different from what’s gone before. Initially it’s more of a difficult relationship and then obviously by the end he’s become a sort of mentor figure she wants to emulate.
Some of the older 9,000 part episodes were convoluted but in a fairly dull way: “oh look we’ve been captured again and will be tied up until the cliffhanger when we will briefly escape before being captured again!”
Rose doesn’t start as “independent”. She’s living with her Mum and drifting along in a sort of half-arsed relationship with Mickey. I will agree with you that I wasn’t wild about the way they wrote her out with a clone Doc and a parallel universe though.
1) I think there is something to like about most of the Doctors (even the ones that got cruddy writing). My favourites are still probably 4 and 5. I liked 10 but felt like he was stuck in God Mode too long. I liked Capaldi a lot but found some of the writing for 12 very patchy.
I didn’t mind Clara as an equal towards the end but for me the big misstep was introducing her as a puzzle piece rather than a person. That was a massive turn off and I wish they’d just written a new companion in once her mystery was solved.
Mine was New Earth I think and then I got so into it, I ended up going back and watching a ton of classic Who while I had a crap job with unsocial hours. I love 4 and 5 in particular and enjoyed the Peter Davison episode commentaries.
I thought this episode was way too shallow an examination of the acceptance of mass gun violence. I did like how the kids barely noticed it though and how normal it seemed to the kids and the teachers in school.
I’m looking forward to seeing this, I thought the book was terrific.
Because some people (me included) think nearly sleeping with a 17 year old as a 50-something is worse than someone trying to bring it up in conversation. Or in a script.
It is a nice drink when made properly and round here, where I live, it is never made properly.
Good Plac3
The other one people from the States recommend to me is Patron. Any good?
Hmm £40. I’d probably rather try some nice tequila (if you have a recommended brand). Here the options tend to be Cuervo or something called Sierra tequila which is quite cheap but has a cute little plastic sombrero sitting on the cap :-)
It’s funny you mention free pouring because I went to a cocktail making class recently where we were told to free pour but personality I’m not a fan. I prefer to be more precise.
I had to look that up. They look cool to me:
It would be fun if everyone in the world woke up tomorrow and nobody at all ever saw romantic relationships as a game ever again. I think it would help things.
“The best thing for her to do would be to tell her ex that she’s seeing other people, but to try to avoid the appearance of exclusivity or particular interest in one person.”
