The thing, though, is that burying it under mountains of paperwork or dismissing it outright doesn’t actually protect the company - because when it inevitably boomerangs back in a few years, then the company looks like shit.

I mean...it is the comments section. It’s where people make comments on their thoughts about the article. One can be interested in the general story without being interested in the actual Verzuz event (myself included in that).
Merriam-Webster is actually pretty cool. I emailed them as a teenager about a definition I had a concern about and was surprised when they actually emailed me back. That’s when I learned that dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive.
