Even better - most airlines actually don’t charge you for WiFi if you are using the in flight entertainment system. And I’ve also never encountered somebody blaring their tablet and I fly a lot, but a great pair of noise-canceling headphones covers a multitude of sins.

I've found power outlets to be standard in coach on the airlines I fly (Alaska and Delta, mostly) but I also bought a portable charger on Amazon for $30 that at full capacity will charge my phone 5 times. I have never had to worry about running out of power since then.

I fly all the time and seldom have I encountered people blaring things from a device without headphones. Even the kids these days tend to have cute headphones attached to their devices.

If you regularly fly that long a tablet is worth the investment. Most airlines I’ve flown with don’t charge you for the WiFi if you are using it to watch their free movies and TV shows through their system, only if you’re browsing the web. Some of them even let you connect ahead of time.
