I don’t think I would’ve been able to stop laughing long enough to say my vows if my sister had worn this at my wedding. (I told her to wear whatever she wanted, and she bought a perfectly nice royal blue dress.)

THIS movie looks AMAZING. Alas, it only seems to be on Netflix in Asia.

It’s keeping up with the Joneses. Wealthy parents tend to float in small circles and compare everything to each other, and the success of their kids is tied tightly to others’ perceptions of their success. If your peers’ children are all going to Yale and Dartmouth and Wellesley, well, you can’t tell them your kid’s

I got my graduate degree at Columbia. I hate that place. The cred is nice to use after the fact, but it’s exactly the kind of place that likes to project a liberal facade but is really conservative as they come behind the curtain - especially if you touching they pockets.

For those wishing that I take my Black ass back to Africa, I wish equally hard that they would take their asses back to whatever patch of Europe their ancestors are from. Because by some delusion of grandeur, they tend to believe that white folks were the original folks of this land.

It’s great! Very much neo-soul vibes. It evokes the feeling, in some ways, of early Erykah.

Yeah, I actually agree with Jackie that I'm not getting traptorial vibes from either of these. They're similar...but different.

I was a Modcloth shopper before and after Walmart...I didn't see any hugs differences, but I was so *afraid* of the potential differences that I did start shopping there less.

Even that’s no guarantee of quality, as Amazon admits to warehousing together - and frequently mixing up - the product they sell directly themselves and the product that’s sold by a third party but “fulfilled by Amazon”. They also refuse to take responsibility for this, saying it is impossible to keep them separate

Anything discontinued that’s on Amazon is likely either really old or just fake.

It seems a little strange to blame the victims in this case. One would assume that buying an item from a major retailer IS doing due diligence, and most people would assume (not unreasonably) that a large, well-known, national retailer like Amazon would adhere to basic safety standards.

There are a couple articles out there on this if you want to read...but not only are Amazon cosmetics very frequently fake, they often have harmful ingredients in them. I’ve stopped buying beauty products off Amazon even if they’re an official retailer for the brand, because Amazon consistently refuses to do

Its the natural end result of their greed and lack of care for their product quality. They value - and have always valued - getting things to customers quickly and taking their cut over ensuring the things they send are actually good. I’ve had to limit my Amazon shopping to a few categories now - for example, no

If you search “contact amazon” their phone number is the first thing that comes up. Also, if you go to your customer service page, then click “need more help?” it’ll take you to where you can hit a button and call them.

Or it’s almost like Jay saw an opportunity to effect some change by working directly with the organization? I mean we’ll have to see how it plays out, but given his history i'm not going to automatically assume he’s abandoning his values for some cheddar.

Sometimes, yes.

Dude, I was coming to say the same thing. You can achieve so much more by working to change things from the inside. Especially if you work with the people activating on the outside as well. Jay-Z has the potential to make some real impact here.

I haven’t had a chance to watch this show yet and I am SO SO SO SO ready to binge it!

I was in Los Angeles this weekend (and actually visited Universal Studios) and the place was covered in Hobbs and Shaw posters. They were EVERYWHERE.

If you step on my toe, maybe you didn't mean to hurt me, but it hurts the same.
