I love Seinfeld, but this isn’t true. It’s very much the definition of sitcom. All the comedy is derived from funny and uncomfortable situations the characters find themselves in. Proof: Seinfeld episodes are generally only funny if you’ve seen the first five minutes. Those are the minutes where one of them spells out

Well I didn’t really mean “Hey, should I tip?” There are lots of scenarios when it is customary to tip and not to tip, and scenarios where it’s possible but not common, and quite frankly this has been discussed to death on the internet and I’m not interested.

I’ll leave a tip in a jar when I feel it’s appropriate, whether or not the person who earned it, in my mind, is looking. But I always wish they were looking, not because I hope they give me credit (actually tbh I think I would feel self conscious about that part, because it’s not like I tip every time and I don’t want

These games all clearly are part of the same lineage.

All possible, but in my mind those explanations are “possible” but not “probable.”

I don’t really think you have to worry. You’re not going to get less high-quality software, certainly, while the Switch is successful. Success for the console increases the good and bad software available. When the Wii was successful, it didn’t cause less good software to come out, it caused more.

I think the movie went to some lengths to convince you that it’s plausible that Kylo Ren sees her origins. Luke tells Rey that the Dark Side will sense something she wants and offer it to her, and then says that what she wants is answers about her parents. Rey is given a (visually cool, but useless to the plot) vision

Why would we need a DKC remake? These games are still great the way they are. We just need Nintendo to actually keep them available and compatible on their newer platforms. We even have two great, modern DKC sequels, and those are already incompatible with Nintendo’s latest platform.

Yes, for Marvel Unlimited. The service’s main draw is you get access to the enormous back-catalogue. Think of it more like Netflix, less like Hulu.

I didn’t like the demo of the first game, haven’t played the second, and suspected that I would think the third game was bad - yet I was still occasionally tempted to check it out. This review was useful for me. No reviewer can reflect all people’s perspectives, but Jason has done an excellent job making his

You are incorrect. This review was helpful to many people, including me.

Quick edit: I see now that a hundred other people have probably piled onto this comment before I got here and just want to say: I stand by my statement, but I don’t feel the need to harass you about it anymore either. It’s hard to have one argument online; it’s impossible to have a hundred. Hope you have a good day.

It’s obviously not for everyone, but - I usually can’t get through single-player games these days because I don’t have the patience, and I struggled to get through Skyward Sword, but i DEVOURED Breath of the Wild. So I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I find the game very engaging, better paced than the last few

Agreed. This is me trying to tie out arguments together: I think it’s useful to attempt to rally a cohort of people, such as enthusiast gamers, to “do better” by “talking about the structure of online communication...” etc. And if we are successful, we will have addressed a problem that is not unique to gaming.

Respectfully: I agree with everything you just said and still have no problem with the use of the phrase “gamer culture” here. To me, “gamer culture” is useful shorthand and very clearly includes “gamer culture, which often exists and is mediated through online public channels with high volumes of users, where harmful

I don’t think anyone is making a point that gamers are worse than communities discussing other internet topics, although I’m sure that someone will reply to this thread with some good evidence of why that is true or is not true. But I think it is evident that the culture that discusses games online has this problem,

Remember when every game was GTA + Bullet Time? :D

I guess I’ll have to wait another two years before there’s any hope of a good Switch Virtual Console, then :(

If I’m remembering correctly, this game’s biggest problem is that it’s a whodunnit where the who is retroactively changed based on decisions you make. There’s nothing fun about “figuring out who the killer is” when it’s constantly changing.
