while I wouldnt consider the cherokee big(B.I.G is suburban) I would hardly call it compact.
In our Mercedes, it always automatically brakes when it sees a particular kind of lollipop looking bush on the side of the road, because you know, it could try to cross. Several near rear end collisions because of that. Automation can not be devised to understand the context necessary to function properly. I wish that…
Yeah, it’s a camera, not a radar. That is also corroborated by the manufacturer link provided in the article.
It was only a matter of time. You guys keep making these cars smarter, and sooner or later they were gonna begin to attack humans. It was inevitable.
The system should just turn itself off when it hears the involuntary “Woooo!” that comes with sticking ones head out of a sunroof.
That sounds weirdly plausible.
Makes you wonder how often that actually happens, people passing mid-flight. Or any other form of transportation for that matter.
If they shut down service everyone would be complaining about that instead. Not saying this was OK, but there is no way to handle this situation without everyone bitching about it.
That’s so fucking sad.
I get that people were mildly inconvenienced, but FFS - that poor human being died in a goddamned subway station. What a horrible end to what was obviously a tragic life.
I think I heard once that BA used to put a gin and tonic and a daily mail in front of passengers who died during flights to make it look like they were sleeping.
The panel van and offroad versions look absolutely fantastic. This or the Honda E would make for a lovely successor to my Panda. Oddly, the only thing I dont really dig are the vertical slots in the front.
It's got the old vertical bar logo!
This thing has a certain “rightness”, shape wise, much like the Honda Clarity concept . Fiat can certainly do some interesting designs when they sick to their core. Hopefully some of this makes it to production.
The owner-removable battery is a good idea. It could mostly live in the garage working as grid storage rather than needing to be hauled around for local tasks, then could be taken along for longer trips when needed.
It’s the first time i think in buy a fiat
I like it.
You could switch out the full set of body panels on the BMW Z1—since it had composite panels around a metal space frame, kind of like a Corvette or early Saturn—but that was an expensive car, and took a very long time to do.
