I’ll probably still play the game, because there looks to be a lot of new interesting features in this year’s release, but it’s a shame about the microtransactions. Not a deal breaker for me as I won’t spend money on them anyways, and not entirely unexpected, but still sucks.

Man, I used to play Roblox all the time as a kid. Before Minecraft came around, this was what we all played. I was never able to build any complex worlds or anything, as the platform to do so is surprisingly complex. But it was a great game to play when you just wanted to chill with others.

I think it has to do with the fact that because this isn’t an especially diverse game, those stereotypes are more of an issue. If this game was telling a story that included characters of a variety of races, and portrayed them as complex human beings with backgrounds and motives, then it’s not as much of an issue…
