Yup, I was wrong about this.

Yeah, I was wrong about that.

They do make stupid decisions and again, clearly they failed to meet demand here, for whatever reason. I’m not arguing that at all. All I’m arguing is that until they come out and say “this is why we failed to meet demand” it’s preemptive to assume it was to fuck with their customers.

Of course. But being annoyed and staying “this company is creating artificial scarcity to drive up demand” are different things.

You’re right about it not being anounced as a limited edition item beforehand—they did clarify after they failed to meet demand, but I thought that this had always been a known fact. That was a misunderstanding on my part.

Yeah, sorry, when you phrase it that way it makes a lot more sense! That tends to be the response to items like this, especially among collector’s and the like.

Yes. Talking about the Switch here.

Please. Can we stop with this artificial scarcity bullshit? The NES Classic was always intended to be a limited edition item—it was NEVER intended to be around in massive quantities. And believe it or not, Nintendo actually continued to manufacture units past the holidays and into this year BECAUSE of demand—something

No, they’re just really popular at the moment. Nintendo is planning to manufacture 16 million more units this year alone. They’re already easier to find now, at least in my region. Don’t worry. You’ll be able to get one.

I feel like this game would be a perfect game for the Switch

For me, Deus Ex Mankind Divided! It got mixed reviews but I think it’s great. Prague is an awesome hub world, the new augmentations are badass and you have a huge amount of freedom to play how you want. And Breach mode looks pretty fun too!

I don’t know, I only play it about once a year. Graphics are shit, gameplay is dry and it has kind of a depressing storyline.

I mean, if you don’t like it, fine, but to say that it was designed for “perverts” that are “living in basement” is a little extreme.

I really wish the Switch HAD a Virtual Console in the first place. Especially one with GameCube support.

It’s not. It was delayed to an unknown date.

Wow! That is some awesome information that really puts localization into perspective. Thanks for doing the research!

No, that makes sense; Japanese sure is a beast of a language. Thanks for clearing things up!

Could you fill me in as to why translation/localization is so expensive for game developers? I don’t know everything that goes into the process, but from the outside looking in, $200k seems like a lot for translating text and updating some graphics. Is there a reason as to why this is such a costly process?

I don’t think MK8 Deluxe is a bad thing at all. It’s a way for those who didn’t play the Wii U version to get a graphically superior, portable version of one of the best Mario Kart games ever, with all DLC included and entirely new modes. And for those who don’t want to buy it again? That’s fine. Nobody is making you.

Or, a more realistic assumption is that they are bringing it to 3DS because:
