Yes, and as the manufacturing powerhouse of Europe, it produces opportunites for its young people, the point i was making. Other western countries generally do the same when not saddled with ideologically driven monetary or fiscal policy.
Snarky, but compare Germany's 7% youth unemployment rate with Egypt or Saudi Arabia's ~30% rates. Or Libya's 50%. That's a whole lot of disaffected young people vulnerable to extremist ideology. Especially when combined with stifling sexual mores.
The Islamic world needs to embrace ecumenical tolerance and liberal democracy. Or at least an economic and political system that produces opportunity for more than a fraction of its young people.

I think you've got to give a little credit to ESPN's failure to heed Michael Jordan's words "Republicans buy shoes too." Taking an aggressively corporate leftish (i.e. identity politics good, class politics bad) stance has alienated a lot of viewers.
