About 30 years ago, I was guilting by family into visiting my step-grandfather, who was in a coma, at a nearby hospital. I never liked him, creepy as hell, whispered warnings about possible sexual groping on grandkids, actually, pretty glad he was going. But I went one time to shut the fam up.

I had a friend coming out of a coma from a head injury. He could write a simple words a week before he “woke up” enough to talk. I could not get his parents to believe me & doctors wouldn’t talk to me because i wasn’t family. He could hear everything going on around him but didn’t know where he was or what was going…

I used to clean hospital rooms. On a few occassionas I had to make that call for the nurses to come down Because for whatever reason the machines had no activity and the alarm wasn’t sounding! So they came in and did what they had to do and called in a doctor just in case.
