Third option; personal vendetta against Chrissy Teagan
Jesus Christ this is a stretch.
Mate I literally don’t even cycle.
Let me be clear;
Do you think its a standard American attitude that 60mph is a super fast road where everyone will die?
If you can’t see that there’s no difference between a 60mph car encountering a 20mph bicycle and a 40mph car encountering a 2mph pedestrian then I can’t help you. At that speed the kerb isn’t going to help you.
How are you missing the point that cyclists on wide open roads with plenty of overtaking space are as safe as pedestrians in a city or a town on a pavement next to a road? That cyclists are as safe as *other drivers* when the drivers are being that inattentive? (I know you think your massive SUV will save you but wait…
Every single person who disagrees with you you’re just saying “oh but no one is paying attention” as though that’s a reasonable response?
Jesus Christ pay more attention when driving and stop defending people who aren’t paying attention.
Not really. If it’s a 60mph super busy thoroughfare then sure. If it’s a 60mph one car every five minutes quiet road then why the fuck not the drivers should be paying enough attention to be able to overtake you without killing you.
I struggle to think of any scenario in which you could plough into 3 cyclists if you were paying any level of attention to your driving whatsoever. Want to be on the road and not paying attention? Get the bus.
This isn’t a comparable example. If you pull onto oncoming 60mph traffic going at 15mph then yes, it’s on you if they hit you.
Walking on a pavement next to a road in the middle of town is depending on the driving ability of some random stranger. Driving a car on any road that isn’t a private road with restricted access is relying on the driving ability of some random stranger.
Do you not do criminal negligence on roads?
Holy fuck
Safe road or not it takes some special fucking effort to hit not one, but three cyclists.
It’s a good rumour to argue against since if it’s not true (and there’s nothing at all to say it is true) it’s insulting to Jennifer Lawrence (and misleading about her character) as much as it’s cruel to Anna Faris.
I know this ruins the scary story vibes and you probably don’t want lowering of your excellently spooky tone, but;
I wonder if “pro-early intervention” extends as far as thorough, scientific and helpful sex education in schools, along with free condoms and easy access to other forms of birth control.
That second one is golden
