Thank you for mentioning that. I usually don't get that much into these things, but ubi soft is kind of irking me with this

Microsoft  actually just started talking about compression techniques for the series x. I think these companies are anticipating huge file sizes and they're doing everything they can to keep it manageable

yes I've seen this

Do you have an example existing of anything that does impress you? I ask because I find this to be mind boggling and if you know something better, please share !

tomb raider 3 (the new one) had an option to turn these environmental hints off. They do it to help the player but we are at the point graphically where it isn't necessary

If you feel that way about kotaku, avoid ign at all costs

Unpopular opinion, but I welcome more tech demos. Feel like the hype train is moving so slowly. It’s demos like this that gets our imaginations running !

You must have gotten lost on your way to ign network

Id have to delete every thing on my hard drive to play this lol

thats actually the opposite of what the presenters stated. I know you watched the video, but did you put the audio on to hear their commentary?

Just a quick point here. I agree with you. But the pulling comes from the SSD, and the rendering is the GPU. So while yes the game will load quickly with this SSD, and you can minimize the loading going from large room to the next large room... the GPU needs to be able to somewhat keep up with the speed of the storage

Exactly. This is essentially the natural next progression of tomb raider

I wholly intend to buy one and sell it 2x the cost.

thats how the modern tomb raider games work

Yep the modern stuff bored me to pieces

I chuckled. But really I haven’t seen anybody make fun of this guy yet (haven’t made it through all the posts yet before I saw yours). Suggesting, rather frankly, that the guy get a job to supplement his meager income instead of make up a lie to the police, is more out of care than anything. Not really a fan of

And if that feet streaming job can cover the rent, then i implore them to carry on. But if you read the post (and bothered to actually read my reply above rather than knee jerk react) you’d see he couldn’t afford his rent even before the pandemic. Again, he should get a job rather than rely on a passion job

Thats not a job. Thats a side hustle. He was making pennies and could barely afford rent with this passion job BEFORE the pandemic. He could have grabbed a minimum wage job and continued doing this on the side and lived much more comfortably. Come on, this is common sense.

Dude get a job

Thanks for reminding us! People are really bad at recognizing and assessing risk. People are also stupid
