For some reason, and I don’t know why, everyone is focusing on her calling him a thief when I think what really caused the Game Penalty was her calling him a Liar. I will admit that by Serena’s standards it’s pretty calm considering she told an official she would stick a ball down her fucking throat.

Guy signs a huge contract and then all of a sudden he can’t play.  I’ve seen it a hundred times...

On the bright side the Bills PR Department must be pretty proud of themselves for that 37 second highlight reel they put together.  

Like I said, I don’t know enough about tennis to know what constitutes fouls, etc. but I agree that Serena handled it poorly.  Seems like maybe she was out of sorts from the start of the match which may have contributed to her poor play and loss of composure with the ref.

Yeah, maybe they shouldn’t report on something as big as Serena getting into a beef with a Ref in Major Championship Final. Ok.

The ref seemed out of line (based on my admittedly limited tennis knowledge) but Serena handled it poorly as well. I’d hope that Serena would make a statement supporting Osaka and saying that no matter what happened between her and the ref that Osaka deserves praise for her win.

When historians look back 100 years from now they will determine this moment is when the downfall of western civilization began.
