I mean at this point we’re going to need to have a nickname for position players pitching.    Maybe “Patchers” or “Mounders”?  Surely someone can come up with a good name for them, especially since it seems like there are position players pitching damn near every day now.

I flipped over to see Sportcenter and this game was on and Bote was up.  Saw the Cubs were down 3-0 and was about to flip the channel when I saw the bases were loaded.  Glad I stayed to see the fireworks.

Well, it’s nice the Redskins and Jets are getting in the news, once the season starts that won’t be the case anymore.

Same with Urban Meyer, his buyout is at 38 Million right now. Frankly I think these large buyouts are why Universities are so reluctant to fire coaches, even when it is clear they should. Where does an AD just come up with 38 Million out of nowhere? And being able to fire someone for cause is a lot harder than it…

This is exactly why the media is so important in holding the powerful (both institutions and people) accountable. I truly believe that our aggressive investigative media is one of the things that keeps our country from devolving into an oligarchy with a a completely corrupt government. That’s why it’s so distressing…

I like how Wake Forest’s statement refers to it as “a matter”. Just once I’d like to see a statement like “We were just made aware that one of our coaches killed a guy. Really, he straight coldcocked and killed a dude. We’re as surprised as you. Total shocker.  Oh, BTW He’s fired. Have a nice night, TTYL.”

Really glad that depression is being talked about more openly now, hopefully taking away some of the stigma and making it more likely that people will talk about their own problems and seek help.  Kudos to those athletes and others in the public eye who have come forward lately to share their stories.
