Greeting from Gate 7!

I’m at Watkins Glen right now and watched most of the cars get towed back into the paddock. It wasn’t pretty.

Great write up! Sadly I forgot to donate to get my name on the car like at the Nurburgring. Hopefully the offer comes around again? Looking forward to seeing what you guys do to the car. Even more insane aero?

Inb4 FIA regulations

They’ve been on the market for years. Just a matter of looking in the right place.

What’s disclosure 11? It’s not listed on either form.

LOL yes!

I feel like I’m going to spend most of tomorrow looking up FIA/ACO regulations, penalties, and fines to see what Rebellion would have received for the hole alone.

I swear I read that same post on r/wec

Oh the FIA/ACO have their way with fines as well, though not as expensive. Several teams got 500 Euro fines for having more than one wheelgun over the line during tire changes. But you gotta remember Rebellion got disqualified and lost an overall podium position in perhaps the most important race there is.

Great ingenuity, and certainly in the spirit of endurance racing. I thought it was a brilliant idea. I hate that it’s come to this, but rules are rules and and at the top of that is always do not mess with parc ferme.

Unbelievably so. The hole allowed them to hit the started without removing the bodywork. Once the engine was running after being hit, putting the bodywork back on would be a penalty, as all work on the car must be done while the engine is off.

You know that the ACO used the 488 as the baseline for the Le Mans BoP and the Vantage, C7.R, and RSR all had favorable BoP changes, right? Only car that was slowed down was the Ford GT. The BoP tables and plenty of articles about the adjustments are available on line.

So, everyone is going on about the Aston being uncompetitive and slowing the other cars down. The Ferrari 488 was the car the ACO used to balance the Vantage, Corvette, GT, and 911. The Vantage, Corvette, and 911 all received favorable BoP changes and the GT was slowed down. I still don’t see why people are so upset

I’ve been pulling for Aston Martin Racing since they brought out the Prodrive built Vantage GTE in 2012. So to see both Astons cross the line in formation like that, after all their Le Mans struggles and the tragedy in 2013, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little emotional.

Gold driver rating and money.

Kevin Estre

It had full 24 hour camera coverage during the race, German and English (Radio Le Mans at that) commentary teams, with Vodaphone going out of their way to implement a 4.5G LTE system for TV signals from around the track and car onboards. They had the live streams on numerous websites including Youtube. It was well

It does among the sportscar racing world. But because it often shares a weekend with Monaco and the Indy 500 you usually won’t get decent coverage of it from places that don’t focus on sportscar racing. For example, Jalopnik had jack on it this year during the race, even though it was way more entertaining than

Funny thing is the TS050 is built in Cologne, the team is based in Cologne, and is supported by Oreca, which is French.
