There’s going to come a day when every manufacturer discontinues selling everything except SUV’s and pickups. So would you like an F150 or an Explorer. A Tundra or a Highlander? Because if that’s all you buy, that’s all you’re going to get.

A similar W203 sedan in pretty good shape recently sold in my neighborhood for under $2k. At that price I could live with the automatic transmission rebuild and all the other repairs that these things will require at some point. The tow it to the junk yard and walk away price wouldn’t hurt too much. At $4k I

My 1987 Civic si had the 1.5 liter 91 hp 12 valve pgm injected 4. I believe the 1985 CRX si had the same exact engine here stateside. My buddy had the carbureted 76 hp engine in his 1984 CRX which felt noticeably slower.

I just paid $10 a spark plug for my old Civic NGV because it requires a specific NGK plug to run right, nothing else will work.

You can get bluetooth calling, music streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration, built in NAV and a touchscreen in a $300 aftermarket unit these days which will be installable in just about any older used car.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the original. Sure it wasn’t very fast even in its day a V6 Fiero could run away and hide from it (at least in a straight line). But there was just something so right about the way the 5 speed snicked snicked into each gear and the little 4 banger revved to the moon and the way you

Just wondering what shoving this much current through a battery in a short amount of time will do to its useful life and reliability? Electric car owners may have to swap in a new $10k battery every year as part of its regular maintenance if they want to be able to charge their vehicles in 10 minutes.

If you’re rich enough to afford a $2700 car payment then just go pay cash for a new car and save yourself the interest and finance charges and additional insurance payments which are going to be implicit in any car you don’t own outright including subscription services.

Most likely the undercarriage of the car hitting the steel railroad tracks and sparking.  Surprised the battery didn’t ignite.

Roads?  Where we’re going we don’t need roads.

If you’re going to buy a really old cheap used vehicle, make sure it’s Japanese.  It’ll be a lot more reliable and fixing anything that breaks will be cheap and easy.

That’s a 7th gen Civic.  The bear would have been much happier with the spaceship like styling of the 8th gen which are still super popular and much better looking than the boring 7th and 9th gen cars.

More life lessons from Jeremy Clarkson: Go ahead and punch your boss in the mouth whenever you want, you’ll probably fall ass backwards into another job paying millions anyways.  No worries!

Sounds about right although I would contend there’s nothing wrong with engine braking (within reason). I’d rather coast down a steep hill with the engine taching at 3500 than sticking it in neutral and riding the brakes all the way down a long descent.

Many women have a problem with their man stuffing a fat wallet or smartphone into their jeans pockets, the unruly bulge looks unsightly and unattractive. If a woman tried to do the same with their jeans I would suspect they would be the source of even greater ridicule from other women.

From wiki:

The proper answer to just about any automotive question requiring utility is a Subaru.

So what do you do when it wants to commit suicide and runs off into the pounding surf?

I didn’t read the article.
