So I’m guessing at some point the main characters are going to be staring down the recently captured monster in its cell when it slams its face into the glass and yells, “My name is Cloverfield!”

Why not? They're having fun. The car world can get a little too self-serious, and these guys sometimes are exactly what's needed.
