The Five Year Engagement has the main character getting her PhD in psychology and it actually deals with the location inflexibility of academic jobs. Unfortunately, it's extremely inaccurate in how it portrays graduate studies and research in psychology.

I think that You've Got Mail was actually an adaptation of Parfumerie, the play that The Shop Around the Corner was also adapted from (more faithfully, might I add).
