So there is actually an in cannon reason why Klingons looked like Asin villain stereotypes in TOS and had crazy ridges in STTNG. It has to do with genetic experimentation of one tribe of Klingons. I’m guessing ​this is happening simultaneously with the new ship stuff.

I’m wondering if it’s anticipatory for possible unexpected health issues. In my calculations I’m fine having a kid because my family has no history of autism, minimal mental issues, no childhood heart abnormalities, etc. This unknown variable means I would want protection against having to deal with those issues.

I get where you head is at, and you are correct there is technically no place that is unreachable in the Star Wars Galaxy. However, I think hyperdrive would make locations MORE remote.
