The presumption is that those rolling stocks will be already engineered and being manufactured and then the carmakers just switch from a 3rd party supplier OEM mfgr to a partner ODM model like what Tesla is doing. the Gigafactory’s only unique aspect is that the scale is so big. But, the business structure and mfg

Ultimately that’s just a cap equipment bottleneck that Tesla has an advantage on. Unless they have some how magically secured raw materials futures in perpetuity, they will have to compete on the spot market sooner or later.  Their competitive advantage ends the instant another company builds their own battery supply

You can also get a good deal if you have a Daimler supplier discount (some companies have it) that allows you to get some cars at a good price. I got a GLC at a touch below invoice in the 1st year it came out.

A 10k-15k new car can pass safety regs (think cheapest Nissan or a mitsu mirage) with a backup camera and 6 airbags.  I don’t think that’s the problem.

I drive a S212 E350 wagon. I’m in my 30s. Everyone calls me grandma. I don’t care. I rock that shit and let my kids scramble over the leather and plush carpet.

I’m happy you agree that Trump is a fucking autocrat that we need to kick out.  FUCK that piece of white trash.

Yeah, only when caught.  And then that backlash goes away in the next news cycle.

The Patriot act allows the US government alot more latitiude and opacity than citizens realize.

The scary thing is that there’s no transparent understanding on how data is used, and no choice to opt out. It can definitely be used for good to understand and manage navigation and traffic, or it can be used for individual surveillance.

I know chinese car perceptions are stuck 20 years behind. But the interior and ext in this video doesn’t seem too bad.

Sad thing was that the Matt/Chris/Rory trio was just hitting its stride before the plug got pulled
