Nest isn’t known for making great operating decisions, and their security offering today sucks vs anything put out by traditional security companies when it comes to sensor suites. Years late and no smart home intergration.

Having probably 20-30k in home automation equipment in my current house, I would say that nest is the least integrated stuff. That, and my 2-way communicating proprietary Carrier thermostat.
