Except there was no effort to brake. A semi with a diesel crossing 3 lanes would take at least 10 seconds to cross, especially starting from 0 mph. Those things are slugs.
A lot of cars have higher mounted windscreen sensors. My Mercedes does, and will auto brake if I am aggressive in sub 6 ft clearance parking garages.
Except for the fact that autonomous car experts have been saying the same thing. Level 4, or nothing. Tesla is stupid in their sensor implementation. Even my Mercedes has a roof level laser and stereo camera module. Give me a break.

My Mercedes has radar and stereo cameras at the roof level. They will detect beams at the roof level (and auto brake) in a parking garage if I’m driving too aggressively. This is just like the time the tesla that ran into the truck doing the summon feature. It seems like they’re missing higher mounted sensors

The Mercedes Stalk shifter also auto engages P when the drivers door opens and dings loudly if the door is open and in gear or in neutral. The FCA one doesn’t.
Having extensively driven the JGC, I can attest that I’ve let the car slide in neutral more than a few times. The jgc is my default rental car so ive driven it dozens of times for days at a time. Great car, but I’ve done the same a few times here and there. It does have the same shifter as the A6/A8. I feel like it’s the standard default ZF 8 speed shifter.
