I understand that point, though I don't personally agree.  My favorite current show is Childrens Hospital, a show that never lets reality get in the way of a laugh.  If that means it will soon burn out, so be it.  Shows should be like meteors or rock stars, burning brightly and then dying.  The idea of aiming for the

I never watched Lost when it was on, but after it ended I watched the 1st season and half of the 2nd on Hulu.  And I realized that if I had watched the episodes when they aired, I would probably have thought they were awesome.  But knowing what I know about how it ended, I just couldn't continue.  I would only be

"answers were liberally sprinkled throughout the preceding two seasons."

I guess you're thinking the title character of The Godfather is Vito Corleone.  But it's both him and Michael.

P.S. I don't want to imply that I think popularity is a good yardstick for quality.  I don't, but that's what Grrr. Argh. was implying in his comment, so I had to deal with that.  I don't think popularity should be used either to support (like Grrr. Argh. tried to do) or detract from (as Grrr. Argh. implied Brian J.

"clear from this board that critics aren't the only ones liking this show."

We can still criticize Girls for being boring, though, right?

Someone called Grim Fandango wrote: "Why is 90% of the discussion around this show about meta topics and behind-the-scenes roles?"

"Yes it was."
