Reporting levels of sexual assault doesn’t trivialise rape. Just like reporting levels of violent crime doesn’t trivialise murder. One is a subset of the other, the rates of the top end offense in each category are also reported. Lower level sexual assaults aren’t “ lumped in” with rape as some sort of hysterical…
