1) i wouldnt expect there to be a vast influx of non-europeans. im just saying, were that the case, the resulting reaction might not be identical

wonder how many people would have opened up their homes had the traveling fans been from anywhere other than essentially the wealthiest nation in the world. probably wouldnt have been as welcoming to bosnian or moldovan visitors, or - *gasp* - fans from outside of europe

that or just host the entire tournament in one location over the course of two weeks - like the olympics or any other slam
