The Spanish verse is roughly "I thought I'd never have the chance to find the path to create a better world" (yeah, sounds better in Spanish).

So, it's like typical movie theater popcorn?
I thought that maybe the popcorn machine was connected to the same power source as the lights, so it wouldn't work until someone came in to switch on the power.
I wish all of the scenes with the kids would be taken out and replaced with a "case of the week" style couple of clients who come to the clinic for assistance with a unique (or even generic) dysfunction to work through. I would probably have more emotional investment in a pair of guest actors in a single episode than…
Citation?
Especially considering that earlier in the episode she specifically
mentioned not wanting to tell him she was leaving him until she was packed and had a new apartment—implying that she feared an angry and possibly physical reaction.
I have no way of knowing whether this comment is true but I really want the opinion that Colbert is a genuinely great guy to be correct.
In the podcast Cenac mentions that his name did come up as a possible replacement and he thanked Stewart for that in an email.
Maybe John K Samson will put out another solo album?
or "Letter of Resignation" as the case may be
Aw, and I was just listening to "Left and Leaving" yesterday, wondering how long until (if) a new album would come out.
Colbert quoting "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" was delightful.
Yes, in MN there are still pockets of progressives outside of the Twin Cities (such as the far north Iron Range), but in the rural area where I grew up (near where Lake Wobegon supposedly exists), the switch from the old school Democratic Farm Labor party to Republican began with Reagan and now the descendants of…
If you want to keep your fond memories I'd advise never actually visiting rural Minnesota: if Lake Wobegon was a real place the regulars at the Chatterbox Cafe would be sitting around yelling about Obama's socialist conspiracies and wishing Michele Bachmann was still in office.
That "article" contains no sources, it's just another opinion piece recycling rumors with no substantiation.
The finale was still in C- range for me until the last few minutes. As soon as the missed connection at Olivia's apartment happened it was clear that Olitz was going to be a thing again and it was steady decline down to F from there. Even Nina Simone singing the Beatles couldn't cover up that ridiculousness.
I actually loved that scene. So tired of the Rowan Monologue.
It says a lot when the behind the scenes speculation about actors in the show is more interesting than the plot lines of the show itself.
Religious scholars could join the Jesuits, but only if they are unmarried men and take vows of poverty, celibacy, and obedience and want to be priests (or brothers in some instances). And as members of the order they would not be able to run for office.
That would be a really interesting storyline, so no, with the writing quality on the show at such a low point right now. I doubt that the note was anything more than a simple goodbye. I think the days of interesting, complex storytelling on this show are gone.
