Thanks for the reminder to read Hugh's blog. I appreciate that he could give some well deserved praise to the Asian influence on NOLA's cuisine ("This is our modern South, and I for one kinda love it"), and then dole out some well deserved snark: "Eddie Huang (Chinese ancestry) from NYC via the Florida suburbs, seems

The song is "Wild is the Wind."

I think it's the "cap her" part of the comment that's the problem. Why can't a commenter just say "I hate [female character] and here's why"? Why is there so often a totally unnecessary wish for violence to be done to the character (or the actor playing the character)?

I think it's more that it's such an obviously awful thing to do that it almost didn't need to be pointed out.

I hope you're right about Daughter Maitland, that she's biding her time and waiting for a satisfying revenge.

I want Chef Leah Chase back to judge all the quickfires from now on after seeing the contrast between last week and this week's quickfire challenges. Dana Cowin's annoyed snark was grating compared to Chase's insightful comments on the gumbo quickfire.

I was hoping for a hard hitting question about the Button Bag and how staged it clearly is now compared to the Bravo days.

Hand raised and eyes rolled re: Deacon and St. Hot Lady Lawyer.

"Lux's post wasn't about the scenes or the motivations of the characters
themselves, but that those scenes were written into the episode as they
were in the first place."

They've been here for weeks already with the tiresome hating on Margaret. I don't blame Lux for being wary of comments that might make light of violence against women, considering the way another female character gets trashed here week after week.

I didn't get the sense that Eli trusted the prohi. I thought his tears were exaggerated and he was stringing the guy along in order to get what he wanted out of him.

"…the packaging featured imagery which some now consider to be racially biased."   That's putting it mildly, Wikipedia.

Thank you!  I knew I had heard of them somewhere, but I couldn't place where until your comment.  Such a great song!

I really hope you're right, and that he doesn't have more sinister motives.  Gillian can be awful, but I still have a lot of sympathy for her and it would be nice to see her find at least a little happiness in her life.

Is anyone able to figure out what Eddie wrote?  Was it a suicide note or was he quoting the Goethe from earlier in the episode?

Someone in another thread likened him to Diet Coke; I think Diet Cary works.

Everything is ending. Including the title gimmick.

Scenes like those can be cringe worthy in a bad way because of hammy acting, or cringe worthy in a good way if they show how awful it is to watch a dysfunctional couple's relationship in full meltdown mode.  In this case it's the latter.

I can't remember what color shirt I wore a week ago, much less keep track of what someone else wore.

Yeah, that was needlessly dismissive of writing groups.  Like it's a bad thing to enjoy the company and assistance of other writers.
