I believe (based on the Band Played on, The Normal Heart, The Great Believers)  there was a large portion of the gay community that was very suspicious of the test, which I think became available in ‘85. There was a feeling that having the test performed might get your name on some kind of list the gov’t was keeping. A

So what exactly was the play with the fake arson?  Are they trying to implicate the owner by implying he was going to torch his own building for the insurance money?

Where’s Sturgill Simpson?

What?  The man is a golden god.

“I wanna Sex You Up” was the song before “In Your Eyes”.  “La Bamba” was after the dead kid reveal.

Sex... Bangin’.”

I don’t really know much about them but the old Hot Rod magazine Ranchero is so badass. In about 1980, when I was 10, my brother and I rode the 1.5 hours from Syracuse, IN to Logansport, IN in the bed of the El Camino. In November. Man, that was cold.

I actually think the Ranchero is cooler, but I have a soft spot for the El Camino because my grandfather had one.

Fair. Even in this performance, the residue of Sandler persists.

Excellent John Turturro imitation.  Seriously, I’ll go.

Skinny Pete, Badger, and an actual El Camino?  I’m in.

that is not an “Emotional hook”

This show is funny, but am I the only one that thinks it might be better with another actor playing Jesse?

casting around desperately for an emotional hook to rest itself upon

Why? Does your kid shit outside? Cuz that would be fucking GREAT!

Yeah, but it goes straight from my anus into the water.  I don’t shit somewhere, hand it to a third party, and make them deal with it.

Skinny.  Mothafuckin.  PETE.

Fair enough. I love watching soccer (basketball’s my fave), but the lack of scoring is an issue for me. Not that I find it boring, but a sport where there are few scoring opportunities increases the importance of luck and refereeing. But it also makes the release that much greater when a goal is scored.

This. This is the question, godammit.

Good one. Nothing beats “orientated” Why add a random -at to a perfectly good word.
