@ace Technically, it is natural selection totally doing its thing. Organism failed to reproduce due to death as a result of a trait (fatal allergy to peanuts) and its environment (a world where peanuts are plentiful and delicious). Whether thats alright, and if its tasteful to bring up is a totally different matter...

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is pretty good!

I still don’t know why some gamers are so hesitant to admit that this is an actual issue. I know quite a few. I am sure a majority of us know somebody with a form of digital addiction and gaming addiction is a subset of that. I had a former friend who feel into alcoholism due to gaming and its a path I’ve seen people

This x1000.  If I were home right now I'd run a speed test and just post the results with a big "fuck you" to every developer who wants to make me stream everything.  That's not including if one has data caps either.

I have no interest in anything they offer if it’s reliant upon streaming. The current state of online infrastructure simply isn’t up to snuff for large swaths of this country, let alone the world.

Game streaming isn’t where it needs to be yet. Especially with neutrality neutered.  Hard pass for the time being.

I think all of the people saying that streaming is the way forward are looking through some pretty limited lenses. Like you say in the article, the majority of the country has access to less-than-optimal broadband; and the price of that shitty connection isn’t worth what they’re getting.

I have one of the Steam

welcome to one of the game’s biggest problems, it was only historically authentic when it cared/wanted to be.

I had this exact experience with Breath of the Wild. The art direction is superb, but I wish they had spent less time on the breadth (pun intended) of the game, and more on the depth.  Witcher 3 had the right balance, and I think that Zelda could have benefitted from copying its focus.

The “If I beat them it’s because I’m good, and if they beat me it’s because they’re bad and got lucky” philosophy is so lame and childish. Funny to now see these streaming celebrities whose careers are wrapped up in third grade playground mentalities.

He’s not wrong though. Have you visited an active gym before?

To be fair, at the gym today there was some mythically proportioned woman who had Ivys body type. It was very disturbing.

I dunno. I seem to remember Rock wearing almost nothing in the first game...

They do objectify men in games, you just don’t count it as objectification because you have different standards. A woman dressed in very little like Ivy is objectification, but a man dressed in very little isn’t? Why aren’t they both considered objectification?

The fact of the matter is, perception is skewed so people

What was the problem with random rolls? Would you rather a system where you kept getting a better devils with the same stats as your other 5? The problem in D2 with fixed rolls was that once you have a decent collection weapons, there is no further incentive to get new weapons, and any further drops are dismantled

To everyone complaining about the 1st Person POV:

I’m actually the complete opposite - I find that in first person you get a much better immersion and can actually notice all the small details in the environment - Like looking at a graffiti from up close, or even just looking at the rabble on the road - everything can feel so much more personal and immersive.

Queue the sorts of people I will never understand: the types who won’t play a game if it’s first person/third person and will only play the opposite. I get having a preference but great games exist in both.

Or you could show some adult restraint by not giving them your money, and show them what we think of the ‘Games as a Service’ model.

50 packages at 20 tokens per package is... *a lot*. Add in the time it takes to wait for and do a public event and then go to a nearby lost sector and you’re looking at literally an entire day sun-up to sun-down if you’re lucky, or taking up every ounce of your free time for an entire week if you’re not.

I’m thinking
