This makes me hopeful that sony still has some tricks they're saving for late E3. Seems to me that something this big would've been part of Sony's conference, but the fact they held back means they're being more coy than I previously thought.

Adventure Mode makes leveling a breeze; story mode drags on after a while, but with Adventure Mode, you get about half a level from a 'clear this dungeon' bounty, which also gives xp for the kills. At level 70, I get 6 million xp from one of those clear bounties on torment, which is a huge portion of a paragon level…

I, too, have been playing a lot of Diablo 3. Recently bought the xpac and leveled a crusader to 70, then rolled a witch doctor on hardcore - my first hardcore character - that I took to 70 and am now working on building one of the end-game gear sets for.

It's not shooting him, but the fact remains that if you planned to not use a gun, having that choice removed from you before the game even really begins is jarring.

Needless to say, the finished game involves shooting.

Not in the opening sequence. The second time you encounter Maurice you can walk away - and I did - but when the game begins, you don't have a choice in the matter - a nonissue since there are no consequences for shooting him since the gun is empty, but you still have to 'shoot' him.

Don't get me wrong, Katniss is a badass in The Hunger Games. But does she do a bunch of flippy things before she lets an arrow loose? NO.

Admittedly, the big issue I see between the two is that the lighting in the 'PS4' version is substantially brighter and things appear to have a much higher reflectivity than the 2012 demo. I think if those two issues were closer to each other, the two versions would probably be much closer to each other.

You raise an interesting idea. When I get watch dogs, I'm going to try and play the game without shooting a single bullet at all. If they give me a gun and make me shoot people, I'll melee people to death instead of shooting them. Brings an interesting new take on a game like this...
