“Didn’t help Philando Castile.”
“Didn’t help Philando Castile.”
He’s still a human being with rights, and had his children in the car. No child should ever have to watch their father, regardless of his past crimes, be shot by police because they were eager to nab him on a warrant. Period.
I like how you are quoting “peace officer” as if that’s what I said, whatever it’s irrelevant to the discussion. And yes I stand by my statement, if a perp is reaching for a firearm (which we don’t know if that happened yet) than the cop gets to respond with force before the perp aims or shoots the weapon. Period, the…
I guess we’ll have to wait and see whether or not this was extrajudicial or not. Police are certainly authorized to use deadly force, but that authorization is not universal or unlimited.
By your logic, the police are justified in using deadly force against anyone in the state who isn’t immediately laying down on the ground and showing their hands,
before engaging someone who starts out with a bad faith discussion and just goes downhill from there.
He was trying to leave and was pulled back and shot in the back.”, right so cops have already tried to taze this man as been reported by the news, and since that didn’t work you have what 3 cops with guns drawn and the guy should expect no push back from trying to leave? Do black people have this idea in their head…
There it is there. This is the same mentality that turned lynchings into picnics they brought their children to, that spit on school children, burned whole Black communities because they can’t stand Black nation building and did everything they could to keep Black people from voting or holding office. The same silly…
“Wait for the guy to turn around with a gun pointed at their face?”
He was not threatening anyone at that time therefore the cops do not get to shoot him.
What happened to “Riots are the voice of the unheard”? (By the way, zero property damage was done)
Violent riots are ok if its against systemic racism, but not ok if they’re for protecting traditional american systems?
Yes, it really is. If not, whats the line? When he grabs the gun from the center console? When he points it? When he starts shooting? He was clearly agitated, about 30 seconds from going to prison for violating his parole (for sexually abusing a child, by the way) the officers KNEW this, there was a warrent out for…
In the video you can hear the crowd saying “dont you do it” and I believe the cops are saying “drop the knife”. The guy is clearly under arrest and is resisting arrest. If the cops ran his plates prior to the video and saw the prior charge of having a gun under his front seat while not telling the police, that would…
“Even if this is true”
Surely what’s coming next is going to be totally unbiased and well-thought out
“He was unarmed now”
Do we know that for sure? Do we know why he reached into his car? Was anything found in the car?
I’ve never expressed support for doing away with the police, and this would be a great example of where the police absolutely should have a role. Not every person commenting on this site has the exact same opinions about every issue, so I don’t really see your point.
You know us black folks should feel proud of our superpower. What superpower is it you ask? The ability to make the police kill us, fire upon us, harass us, pull us over and attempt exterminate us just because we have black skin while ignoring white people with weapons and riot gear. To all the trolls that visit her…
Unfortunately, cops will have to have guns until Americans don’t have guns. We ain’t Britain.
The guy had a history of violent crimes using guns (the police can tell this when they run the plates) and was reaching into his car, in addition to having a warrent out for his arrest for sexual assault.
Clearly another open & shut case of racist police brutality as a guy with a history of resisting arrest and keeping handguns under the seat of his vehicle is shot while resisting arrest and reaching over the front seat of his vehicle.
So will the PUBA have another big ass press conference about this? Just asking because they seem to have a lot of shit to say when they need to defend themselves. Come PUBA you came out with your endorsement this week let’s hear your response to this.
