It doesn’t matter. You can walk into something faster and harder than you can drive in this.
Paint this silver and call it the new cybertruck prototype.
I forgot: VW hippie buses go for prices as high as some of their previous owners. If only I had that much money. Or that much weed.
This is cool as hell, but too nice and expensive to use as a weekend junk and materials hauler, probably too weird for Cars and Coffee (“Oh, sorry bud, I will get our of your way so you can pick up the trash”). Maybe VW shows if that is your thing.
Here is a dash picture. What in the world is that filler cap for? Washer fluid? A urine reservoir for when they won’t give you bathroom breaks?
If you really need an old cabover stake truck, $20K could easily get something useful.
The designer lost his French curve, said “Fuck it”, and was home by 5:15pm.
Looks like a cool, slow, fun way to die in a frontal collision.
I have some sheet metal and a couple windows and a truck frame sitting around, some pallets from the local nursery, and a free weekend so I’ll build one for myself. Noooooo Dice.
you are the crumple zone.
“First at the scene of the accident” school of design.
Crumple Zone, it hasn’t it.
Do you think the next stage going to be “that one guy in college who nobody wants to drive with because although he’s never crashed he just doesn’t give a shit about road signs or common decency so every trip is like being in an auto cross race”?
I’m here for wacky, excessive cars just as much as the next jalop. What I’m not here for is excess for the sake of excess. People still seem to believe that if a car is an EV, it’s a do-no-wrong car and a better alternative to any ICE. But this thing is ridiculously heavy: weight is bad in pretty much any scenario,…
At some point we will have to do this in some shape or form. Heavier vehicles result in more wear on the roads. As EVs start to make up a larger portion of the vehicles on the road, we are going to need to increase spending on road maintenance (or suffer increasingly shittier road conditions).
Who died and made you the arbiter of acceptable vehicle size? Speaking of which, what size is acceptable? Are Teslas OK? I bet a Nissan Leaf would be OK but that could obliterate a toddler as well. It seems that 65,000 people feel this vehicle makes sense for them. I hate it and would never consider one, but I…
Each Hummer EV has enough battery capacity to power what, 3 Bolts?
Big EV bad. Small, compact, 4-cylinder hybrid city truck bad.
I agree you on this one, Andy. This is a fucking stupid and recklessly dangerous vehicle.
