Yup, that’s our world. You are now a hero for simply doing the right thing. Ethics/principles are now so rare, we have to call them out on the Internet. Our market economy may not be perfect, but it sure makes identifying someone’s true colors a whole lot easier.
Hey, you appear to have way more to say on that, and on other stuff as well. You probably saw shit none of us Jalops ever saw, please say more!
You used to own a franchise? Was it fun? Do you miss it? What do you do now instead? Sounds like you’ve got some cool stories.
lol, if you think this is a train wreck wait until you read about how the only folks who’ve ever gotten an F-150 Lightning Pro are people whose dealerships specifically prioritized them to get a first wave reservation. Doesn’t matter if you reserved the first second it was available, the dealership can put other…
This is why people put up with Tesla’s poor build quality and Elon’s antics.
Guy down the street from me bought two at $15k mark up and sold them for $30k mark up each and is so smug I could slap him.
This is why I canceled my F150L order. Ford told me to place my order. Dealer I had selected wouldn’t put price in writing and calling several in my area was the same run around. I’m sure there’s plenty of idiots out there willing to fork over $10k+ over MSRP to try to impress the world, but not me.
You can only be a bit angry at the dealerships. They only charge what people will pay. If people stop paying the markups, they’ll stop charging them. If they need to charge these markups to keep the lights on, I get it.
This is more about a manufacturer screwing customers. But no, we’re not shocked.
This was the last vehicle I launched before I sold my franchise, and it was so poorly done.
Are we really shocked by dealers screwing customers? Really?
I feel this. I placed a reservation with the Iowa dealer on Oct. 1st 2020 ($2,000 under invoice). Back then the Ford story was that they’d build the reservations more or less in the order they were received and dealers were expecting to receive about 30% of their reserved units in 2021. Then the big dealers started…
that sucks. imagine going to a restaurant with a reservation and getting sat the next day.
+1 for Granger and their transparency.
I would seriously not be all that thrilled about buying one of these right now. It sounds like there have already been a number of issues with these like issues with the roof, engine failures and so on. That and the ones being delivered might have already have been sitting for months on end outside in huge lots…
First day reservation holder here. Still waiting for my Bronco to arrive.
the dealer drew a lot of reservations by pricing the Bronco $1,000 below MSRP
It’d be a real shame if Ford spun Bronco off into a standalone company that could just sell vehicles right off the line at their assembly plant....totally a shame and they definitely shouldn’t just go ahead and do that....
