where do you think the Veyron falls in this spectrum? I’d argue that car was the largest engineering tour de force of its time.

LF-A is quite possibly my favorite car ever produced from an engineering standpoint.
what other cars are in this class?
I feel like that would work better in Denver. Or maybe have that as a second location with maybe an A330?
as a subaru fan:
Yea i know that’s a problem. But that was back when they were fist experimenting with ground effects. With the millions of dollars spent today in the wind tunnel or on computer simulations, I’m sure a safer way to go about it would be found. Plus like others have said, other series (like IndyCar and F2) use more…
maybe this is an incredibly simple way of looking at it but if F1 wants cars to be able to follow each other closely, why don’t they loosen the restrictions on ground-effect-produced downforce and start to limit the amount of downforce that are created by wings. Wouldn’t that greatly simplify the issue? Or do ground…
Correct, but that’s assuming that Leclerc is Rossberg’s equal as a driver and I think we can all agree that (at least at this point) he isn’t.
Its gonna be Leclerc v. Verstappen first. And Charles is gonna get bullied.
Ferrari has no chance at a constructors championship without a true #2 driver. I can’t believe their strategists will say anything directly but it will be implied that Leclerc will be used the same way Bottas has been used.
If that’s the case then pull the motor over the winter when its not driving anyway and rebuild it. Store the truck outside with a tarp over the top and bottom to prevent snow from getting in. Reinstall motor when snow melts and enjoy your fresh new engine next spring.
I predict he’s going to be around well into his late-30s. Barring a career-ending injury, he’ll do what Schumacher did and Raikkonen’s going to do and retire after he’s been wallowing around for a bit.
Normally, when approaching a bend in a road, you’d naturally ease off the accelerator a little bit.
Lets be real Charles. You’re not on the Ferrari team to go for the World Championship. You’re there to be a rolling roadblock for Hamilton, Bottas, Ricciardo, and Verstappen. And MAYBE get a lucky win every now and then when the strategists fuck up and screw over Vettel.
I thought he imported this for a specific client? He just got one for tits and pickles? Then puts it up for sale?
the easiest way to explain this is that the airplane’s propeller will still pull it through the air regardless of what’s going on with the wheels. no need for force diagrams.
ran around the house shouting to [his] mates” before they all jumped in a pool
No official photos from straight on. The closest is a 3/4 view of the front. Its like they’re admitting the front of the car is ugly. looks like they took the last generation to a slasher movie then gave it a literal face-lift to keep that expression on the car.
They are decidedly uncommon here in the NYC area. I see one a week, if that.
that’s close except you’re assuming that Steel and gold have the same density, which they don’t. So you’d need to know the volume of the metal used in a Beetle to accurately convert.
