I would have loved to see that! Missed it though :(

Cibo Matto? Or they might be too old ... they were around in the 90s.
Literally, me too. I was just telling my (much younger) sister-in-law that I’ve hardly bought any new music since 2000.
Nice! If you’re in the DC area, I recommend Catholic University - they have a great MLIS program for archivists. Good luck! :)
This is an excellent plan. I was a SAHM for 9 years after having a career in law firm marketing & business development. I starting working on my MLIS in Law Librarianship (career change) when my littlest was 3, and literally right when he started full-day school, I got a job offer a term before I graduated (finished…
Flux, I’m so sorry that you went through that - and congrats on your beautiful baby. You’re the only other person that I know that had a much larger baby than the doctors expected - at my last measurement, they told me that they thought my 2nd son would be 7.5 lbs. tops, but he was born at 10 lbs. The doctor who…
Maybe they are dyslexic? I’m an Arial on white background person myself, but my son is dyslexic, and he can really read more easily if a page has lines, and the font is comic sans. I would hate looking at that all day though.
This is the Brazilian judge’s decision from the Ryan Lochte debacle during the Olympics - it’s in comic sans:
Actually I do all the time, but I’m old (40). I’m obsessed with keeping print copies of my work, but I know it’s fucking stupid.
That’s hilarious about the CV - do you remember the Ryan Lochte debacle in Rio during the Olympics? One of these Kinja sites had posted a PDF of the judge’s ruling, and I swear to god, it was in comic sans. Legal docs in the US need to be filed in times new roman, so I couldn’t believe that was allowed (if it was…
Yup, I work in the legal field, all docs need to be filed in TNR.
I also personally hate comic sans, but my son is dyslexic, and it’s one of the only fonts he can read with ease. This is known in the dyslexia community - I believe it’s one of the reasons that the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books are so popular.
A lady I work with (who I happen to like a lot) has repeating teddy bears all over the page background and I just don’t understand.
I remember reading that same article some years ago - I thought it was really well written, and I admired his attempt to understand what his wife was going through.
I live in Reston (where the victim lived) - it’s really an incredibly tolerant community, with a huge Muslim population. We shop and eat right where the crime occurred all the time. Honestly, it was pretty shocking to hear about an anti-Muslim hate crime here (which it seems now that this was not), but there is some…
Coppertone for babies is excellent, so is Aveeno sunscreen for babies, and Neutrogena has a good one too - they all use physical blockers, like zinc oxide (same stuff in diaper rash cream - good for baby’s skin). I am a melanoma survivor, and my older son is the palest kid in the world and we are both allergic to…
If you want twins, try Clomid (a fertility rug that promotes ovulation). I was having trouble getting pregnant with our second child, and Clomid is typically prescribed for the issue I had. My OB did warn me, though, that there was a much better chance than average of conceiving twins with Clomid, since it will…
Thanks for posting this story - I lost my brother last year to an opioid overdose - he lived in FL and was 34, and he had become addicted some years before after having surgery (though he progressed from pills to heroin and I believe, ultimately, fentanyl). I used to always read articles like this and think of the…
From what my Croatian parents have told me, all of the former Yugoslavian countries spoke “Serbo-Croatian” as the official language (albeit written in either the Roman alphabet, or Cyrillic, in the eastern provinces - Croatia & Slovenia used the Roman alphabet), but the regional dialects can be VERY different. My…
