I'm assuming it's real because the author said wearing mink/fox/sable is a symbol of wealth, which I take to mean faux fur is not. It looks real, but I can't really tell.
Please, don't judge my abhorrence of needless cruelty.
Nothing to do with race. It's cruel in almost all circumstances, the one exception being maybe if you're living in a cold climate & fur is a necessity.
That's weird, I thought wearing fur was a sign you're thoughtless, cruel & vain to the nth degree.
