MINOR SPOILER HALF WAY DOWN!

I think her accent is supposed to be largely Australian as that's where her character lived for the past 15(ish) years or so. I thought she did a great job!

Disagree. I'm Australian & I thought it was excellent. She 90% nailed it. Much better than the hammy effort from Meryl Streep in Evil Angels.

High five to that.

Slightly OT: I'm so very over the pearl-clutching hyper-sensitive Jez commenters perched up in the rafters ready to swoop on anything that maybe just maybe could be construed offensively. There is not a single word in the original post which could be considered 'racial' yet there's always someone there to remind us

Agreed. And Amy Winehouse largely wrote all her own lyrics/music as well. I MISS THAT CRAZY BITCH. I've always scoffed at people who cry when a celebrity dies - I mean, it's not a friend or relative ffs! - and even though it was sadly no surprise, Amy's death kicked me proper hard square in the goolies.

The Grand Duchess of advice columns is Dear Sugar. Please run as fast as you can directly to The Rumpus to read her words if you haven't already! I like Prudie's directness even though I don't always agree with her, same with Ask Polly on the Hairpin. And the friend advice on Jez is quite good too!

Holy shizballs. That's the worst. I feel like putting a ring back in my snout.

PS - I'm sorry a loathsome knuckle-dragger has made you feel unsafe. This entire thread has made me SO ANGRY. It's really honed the precision of my already quite skilful CBF.

I was reading this post on the bus & was telling my partner as we were walking home exACTly this: never ever EVER has a woman ever told me to smile. I had a job interview / half day trial to see if I was a good 'fit' for a crappy job I'm overjoyed I didn't get. The big grey moustachioed, back-slappy manager was all

I'm not particularly patriotic, or pro-Army. But by crikey if that didn't make me all prideful for Oz. I will add him to my list of Fantasy Dads, along with Tim Gunn, Stephen Fry & Rob Brydon.

I've only ever heard it referred to as a 'Texan tuxedo', which (imho) sounds AND fits better!

I assumed that it was another case of English-speakers-who-don't-speak-'American'-all-sound-the-same-must-be-British -itis.

You're a dick. Or should I say, a 'dick'.

Good on her for making a cosmetic company accountable for their typically ridiculous claims. I wouldn't be very good at it (being Jewish) because who's gonna know (God, arguably) or care (not God - more important things to worry about, surely?) when I secretly re-apply mid-Sabbath?

I just said the same thing below! Lots of people calling you chic doesn't mean you get automatic role model status in spite of your anti-semitic leanings.

Isn't Coco Chanel known for heart-ing Nazis & hating Jews? A more interesting photographic subject than a pretty pink princess - sure! but p'raps not a role model.

I guess it's fortunate I didn't 'drop' any money on Dreamweaver (or any other Adobe products).

My humblest apologies, wise one. I'm just starting out and have been teaching myself Dreamweaver and learning Python. I'll make sure to put 'become serious developer' on my to-do list & maybe just maybe I'll earn your respect.

Open source software is often equal to its over-priced counterparts, but not always. LibreOffice is excellent, there is virtually no difference in function compared to the MS version. GIMP is a decent substitute but does not offer the same range as Photoshop. And there is no open source alternative for Dreamweaver
