It wasn’t just a typewriter thing; I grew up with double-spaces being taught in my computer lab in the mid 90's.  I’m guessing that, around the time Helvetica was cool and shitting on Times New Roman was gaining popularity... hipsters decided that single space was superior and have not relented since.

So do a search and replace all double-spaces with single-spaces. Boom. Done in 2 seconds. You can even set it up as part of a macro that you run whenever you receive copy or write-ups from anyone.

All of this sounds like someone who doesnt work in an office.  No one gives a shit about any of these things.  No one is laughing at the Olds for saying Presentation instead of Slide Deck.

Personally, I think Rose was written as a plot device more than a character. She exists to be Finn’s travel companion/guide through an ultimately pointless diversion that functions mainly as a hamfisted attempt at satirical allegory only to be shoehorned into being his romantic suitor at the end.
