Genji is a good counter to bad Bastions. Players will eventually learn to stop holding LMB when they see the animation, wait for it to end, and rip him to shreds.

A lot of this is the typical “Assume the worse and panic” response we see anytime anything changes at YouTube. A lot of this is YouTube’s own fault as they repeatedly ignore their own content creators when it comes to designing and communicating new systems.
