But the point is, you don’t always KNOW they are creepy or dangerous until you don’t want any further contact. I didn’t know my ex would pull out full on stalker mode.

This is what I have experienced too. If you try to have contact with them to let them know you aren’t interested they seem to see it as an invitation to keep trying to contact you.

And even if they aren’t crazy level dangerous, continuing to have contact with them gives some the idea that there is hope. And they won’t leave you alone.

I was going to say the same thing. My parents were exactly as the op describes. Didn’t make me like vegetables or eat them. I HATED anything good for me until I grew up and left home. I started eating vegetables at age 22.

I let my dog take care of most dishes then put them in the dishwasher. He treats cooked on food like in lasagne pans like a challenge and is pretty efficient. No soaking required.
