I just commented separately, but according to the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre (http://www.onjcancercentre.org/) which is near me, what they mean when they say ‘wellness’ is actually mostly evidence-based non-medical therapy such as ‘Acupuncture, Art Therapy, Brain Tumour Support Service, Clinical Psychology

Ok, being someone who has no tolerance for ‘wellness’ when it’s (frequently) used as a catch-all term for sham treatments like homeopathy or reiki etc.

Omg that’s adorable!!

My Green Beret father (2 tours in Viet Nam, God rest him) was nuts about her. He called her “Olivia Neutron Bomb” and hummed along to her music...

Poor Chrissy. Such a major talent gone too soon.

Now playing

Two years ago Olivia and other Australian singers recorded an a cappella version of “I Touch Myself” after Chrissy Amphlett, lead singer of The Divinyls, died from breast cancer. So the song was originally about, you know, pleasuring yourself, but it became about encouraging women to check their bodies for cancer,

Well, she is getting radiation therapy, too, so maybe the “wellness” twaddle is just to make her feel like there’s something she can control.

I am wishing the very best for Olivia, I’m crossing my fingers... she’s been through a lot of shit.

I had this uncle, Jerry, who was a rebel. Drove a motorcycle and a Z28 with considerable speed, wore jeans everywhere (even to church, much to Papa’s disgruntlement), owned ridiculously big dogs, played pool quasi-professionally...

I think she might.

There is nothing inherently wrong with any kind of marriage. The whole “Indian society makes a large emphasis of the needs of the greater family unit at the expense of the individual” thing makes a ton of sense. If both parties were asked to sacrifice the same amount, yeah I can see how this can work.

She should try and work with female directors as often as she can.

And you can tell she tries to go for strong roles and female-driven films.

I love this woman dearly. She is talented, smart, honest and beautiful.

At 46 she’s directed 6 features (most of which fall somewhere between warmly received and critically acclaimed) and Bill Murray’s Christmas special. And she has an Oscar. And now is only the second woman in the history of Cannes to win best director. She’s doing alright.

This is a continuation of the incorrect assumption that women only includes white women and black only means men.

This is sad, and it’s sad because our nation is sad.

Having a gun in the house actually makes you less safe.

I think Susan G. Komen is getting out of hand with their pink sponsorships.

We’ll be waiting for you with a bottle of wine.
