Well, no hat tip and I imagine there are multiple sources that they could have gotten the story from. So, I remain unconvinced, but am open to all possibilities.

I believe “...so you don’t have to” is also acceptable.

My girlfriend recently instituted this half-sponge change in our house. She’d been using normal scissors to halve them, but I busted out the tin snips to add some beefiness back to the operation.

I got the same situation going. I’m 6'4" and Mrs. Godzooks is 5' even, though she occasionally will claim 5' 1" (lie.) I’ll occasionally crouch down to see how the world looks from her elevation, and it’s goddamn bizarre.
