I was so excited for 3d after avatar. I thought it woulf be the same leap as silent to speaking or black and white to color.

I think it’ll make at least $1 billion. For context, Jurassic World: Dominion pulled that off (barely), and I expect Avatar 2 to do better than that.

My guess is that it will stall out somewhere between $500M and $700M.

Or Chapek intentionally kept anyone from being groomed to replace him. There’s a lot of executives like that. It’s happening in the NFL right now with Roger Goodell. There’s talk that he’s going to retire at some point, but there’s no idea who would replace him since every person that get even a glance at it gets

As others have pointed out elsewhere though — not a lot of people had a good quarter; it was a pretty bad quarter for lots of people.

The parks have really gone downhill under Chapek, perks of staying on resort have been removed and the cost have skyrocketed. The parks have always been busy but now it’s become unaffordable for many and those who do go have said the experience is lacking.

So much for his “radical free speech” that he was bringing to Twitter!

The thing about right-wing chuds is that they will instantly zero in on “wokeism” as being the reason something doesn’t work, when in fact something not working perfectly in any media is usually due to a hundred more nuanced issues than diversity in casting.

He really just hated animation overall, which is where we’re seeing a lot of the real trailblazing with regards to diverse content nowadays. I don’t know if this was intentional and related to the diversity of the content or if it was just because he hates animation. But he was about to start firing people in those

Not just on Twitter. One of the trolls and his five alt accounts are also firing on all cylinders on this thread.

Over on Twitter, the right wing chuds are claiming Chapek was fired for making “woke” productions like Lightyear, Ms. Marvel, The Owl House, She-Hulk, and the upcoming film Strange Planet...even though all those projects were greenlit while Iger was still in charge.

We’re less than 4 months out from his 3-year contract extension. He’s probably banking 9 figures for apparently sucking at his job for two years. Another example of great governance by a board.

My money on current Marvel head of operation Kevin Feige is positioned by Bob Iger to be his replacement.

Dear god, there are so many ways to make easy money when you have the kind of capital he does, yet he is choosing to work immensely hard to make $8/month. He should just have started a fucking onlyfans.

no matter what your party affiliation or political views, no one should have faith in twitter

I love how all the aliens on this show are basically Terry Gilliam characters.

Yeah, this rule seems like it was designed exclusively to protect their bottom line and shield them from criticism (and potential regulation) from right wing wingnuts (and Trump himself) whining about “liberal social media” (there’s no such thing, morons).

That wasn’t “property”. that was a piece of litter that somehow became stuck to a license plate. He was doing the guy a favor by removing an obvious piece of trash.

That would have been my story.

This wasn’t the same car or driver, but about a month ago I was a witness to a hit and run on Queens Boulevard at 46th. Dude in an SUV with an obfuscated license plate sideswiped a teenager/younger 20-something on a motor scooter. The driver got out, gaslighted the kid about how it was actually _his_ fault, stuck

It’s NYC, blocking the plate number prevents red light cameras, speed cameras and toll stations from seeing the plate. That means you can drive around speeding, running red lights and using all the bridges and tunnels for free. But let’s just skip those for now and think about what happens when there are hit and run
