Reddit is making money from the misinformation so they won’t do anything.

Just scroll through the Wikipedia page on banned reddit communities, especially to how long so many of them were operating for. There’s so much harmful trash that’s gone through that place. Sure, there’s totally legit, cool helpful places in reddit, but no one should look to it for any sort of societal good.

I foresee a “Facebook moment” in the future for Reddit, where the CEO’s sit in front of congress, and have to explain the meaning of ‘DogeCoin’ to an octogenarian representative.

Actually, I think you could make an argument that spreading demonstrably false public health information in the midst of a public health crisis is equivalent to yelling “fire” in a movie theater on a global scale.

This isn’t a free speech thing. If the fanatics on the right cared about free speech they would do the work of parsing out what types of speech are fallacious and not factual.

There exists no toilet paper quilted enough to prevent u/Spez from leaving skid marks all over Reddit. As long as Reddit has one of the wettest pieces of shit on the internet running the show, the stink is always going to be an issue.

These false statements of fact are a public health danger and shouldn’t be protected under our freedom of speech, let alone supported by a private company who damn well knows better.  Your rights to spout dumbass gibberish ends when my life is at stake.  Fuck Reddit.
