That quote also leaves open the possibility that she wasn’t even underwater when this “breath hold” happened.

I trained myself to hold my breath for over 6 minutes on a whim over a weekend. It’s not that hard, nor is it much of an achievement by sports standards. The longest free dive breath hold is 11 minutes 35. The longest held breath on record is 24 minutes 11 seconds (with oxygen prebreathing). The only really dangerous

She said she learned to free dive for the role and that her longest time was 7 minutes 14 seconds. She did not say she held her breath that long while filming scenes. She insinuated it. I think she did that on her own with a trainer under ideal conditions and is letting fans fill in the blanks with their own

Presumably she had breathed in some 100% oxygen beforehand? It's much more doable if you do.

You can hold your breath that much and longer if you pre-oxygenate. There’s nothing fancy about it.

“It does seem odd that discrimination against an employee gleaned by snooping on them outside the office is not wholly illegal across the board regardless of pregnancy status.”

Right? The supporting allegations of his coworkers seems almost cartoonish. I’ve met and known plenty of people who don’t want children and don’t see a need to procreate, but I’ve never come across a workplace where an employee who is expecting a child would be routinely mocked by multiple other employees.

Was the judge Amy Coney Barrett?

I’ve always thought that was the point with Borat. He’s saying all that atrocious stuff in Hebrew, not “Kazakh.”

Well, Ms. Evans is no longer with us and her estate filed the suit.

If it’s any solace, in the trailer I saw, the people of his Kazakhstan village are not happy with Borat.

“Upon learning after giving the interview that the movie was actually a comedy intended to mock the Holocaust and Jewish culture, Ms. Evans was horrified and upset.”

Now THAT’S a Jalop story!

We can only hope. Best plan all around is for him to linger until the election is over, then be so incapacitated that he can’t speak or move around. I always have a picture of Joe Kennedy in mind when I think of Trump languishing in a wheelchair.

Ok, I know I shouldn’t have, but I had to laugh when I read your post. Not because I disagree with it, but because it so closely mirrored a recient post by a family member that lives so far in the other side of the aisle, I sometimes have a hard time reading her “Trump and God!” posts. This country is so filled with

No, it will take 4. In the case of a tie, Pence is a tie-breaker vote, and he will obviously vote to appoint.

And they’ve said things like that before. Then they capitulate when they get the right offer.

I’m looking for hope anywhere right now, and this gave me some. Thank you.

This is a very interesting point that I hadn’t thought of before. It is kind of insane that there’s a job at the highest level of our government where people work until they die.

I am just going to say this but she should have retired in 2014 when the Dems still held the Senate and she knew she had end stage pancreatic cancer. She was an icon but that doesn’t mean she didn’t fuck us totally by not stepping down.
